2007 North American Irish Dance Championships in Ottawa

Congratulations to all the Irwin dancers that participated in the 2007 North American Irish Dance Championships in Ottawa! Our school had the following results: 2nd place - Mixed Ceili Under 16 3rd place - Ian Gott in the Boys Under 15 7th place - Brittany Scott in the Girls Under 16 13th place - Fiona O'Neill in the Girls Under 16 16th place - Erin Roberge in the Girls Under 15 19th place - Sarah Hay in the Ladies 21 and over 34th place - Caile Rice in the Girls Under 14

World Irish Dancing Championships

Congratulations to Ian Gott who won 2nd place in the Boys 14-15 category at the World Irish Dancing Championships in Glasgow, Scotland in April 2007! The Irwin Teachers would also like to congratulate Erin Roberge and Caile Rice who competed at their first World Championships! More photos are available in the website album.

Easter Sunday Classes Canceled

Classes will be cancelled on Monday, April 9, 2007 (Easter Monday).

Dancers can make up a class on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 or Thursday, April 12, 2007. Dancers who attend the 6-7pm Monday class can attend the 6-7pm Tuesday or 6-7pm Thursday classes. Dancers who attend the 7-8:30pm Monday class can attend the 8-9pm Tuesday or the 8-9pm Thursday classes.

 

Cathy Sobieski Passes T.C.R.G.

Congratulations to Cathy Sobeski, who was recently informed that she passed her examination, and is now a certified T.C.R.G.

Cathy, who was formerly a teaching assistant, undertook the examination process in January of 2007, in Los Angeles, California.

This years theme is the Fiesta Ceili, the event will be held on:

Note that the Feis will be held at a new location this year, and that there will be a significant difference to the usual schedule.
